A Simple Wish List
Where ever you turn, there are pumpkins, mumps, or other decoration to signal the fall season is in full effect. For me, it is all about compatibility with the season ahead. I would say the fall season is my favorite. It is sweater weather and with that also means, getting ready for the Christmas season. Though Christmas is not here yet, I am thinking a head because this Christmas, I want to go Christmas market and enjoy it with someone who carries the same passion for the season of Christmas as I do. It is not easy to find this compatibility but I believe with a simple wish-list it can happen. Everyone has a simple wish list, and as I work on mine, I also approach anxiety.
The reason for anxiety, is because I wish it already was so. I wish I already arrived, to that feeling, I have been chasing for so long. And thus, the anxiety signals to me, that I am rushing. I am rushing into making my life into a neat gift with a bow that I might be missing some signs along the way. When you have not had something for several years and all of sudden you presented for the choices that make this goal a achievable, anxiety seems to remind me that what I want will happen but I cannot will it immediately.
I do not know the wish of others, but mine is simply to share the season of Christmas with someone who understands why sharing this season is important. The mere understanding is the entire point behind why two people can spend time exploring the city and just enjoy the mere simplicity of hot chocolate and a candy cane. Sometimes, the readiness behind the willingness to prance around the city can be miniscule, and that is alright. Because, what matters the most, is the mere willingness to share the season with someone. And it does not matter how ready someone is, or what the expectations might be, because the entire expectation is to share time together and enjoy the season that signals love. Christmas, is all about love and as someone who does not really like Christmas, I would like to give Christmas a chance to wow me.
I do not know how it will happen, but Christmas had a bad rap. Maybe, this year, will be the year, when I will get to know Christmas in a new light. I will see the nuances and the precious moments as though, I am experiencing for the first time; because who knows, maybe I will be experiencing them for the first time. And all that matters is an open heart and an open mind to experience the magic of Christmas, that I never got to experience before.
Xo,
Anika
