Losing 20 Pounds Without Giving-up My Life
Why I am starting this journey:
The simplest reason, why I decided to embark on this journey
is because I need and want a healthy lifestyle change.
I want it because I want to walk up the steps without catching my breath.
And I want it simply, because I want to be vain and feel good in my own skin.
Current habits and challenges:
Some current habits and challenges that I am facing are late night snacking.
I tend to skip dinner sometimes, and that leads me to wake up hungry in the middle
of the night and I tend to snack. Even if the granola bars are healthy,
I know I need to eat at least a light dinner to avoid late night snacking.
But my biggest challenge I would say is consistency.
I know consistency wins the game, and that is why
I know as long as I do not stop my fitness routine,
I will be okay. The good thing is, I used to work out
as a child for fun, so I hope, I can find that
child-like joy while reaping the benefits, that come with
following a healthy lifestyle.
Why traditional diets have not worked:
Some of the diets have not worked for me because,
I am still here trying to figure what does work for me.
Being 100 per cent vegan, or any specific category just does not work for me.
Eating like a carnivore does not either because I don’t like to eat meat that often.
That is why i decided to find the balance between vegan meals, and protein.
On occasion I have a burger, to help me with my low iron levels, but my diet mainly
consists of high fiber and protein.
What success looks like:
To me success looks like, being able to wear whatever I want,
without worrying about my weight. So I guess success to me, is
as much of feeling good, as it is, about feeling strong.
I would say, weight loss, is more of a mindset struggle, then it is about anything else.
Because as long as the choices are made, on consistent basis, the results
will inevitably, be seen. Sometimes, we can put a lot of effort into things, people,
projects but the results, for some reason, are hard to come by.
But I believe, when we put effort into, our fitness routine, eventually,
the results will come by as a natural by-product, without trying way too hard.
The result of choosing a healthy lifestyle over and over, will at one point,
translate into walking up the stairs without catching your breath, or being
able to jog because you will be more in shape, than out of shape.
