Rejection

There are studies done that rejection and words hurt just as much as physical pain. Yet many of us inflict it without thinking twice about it. I believe we do that, because we ourselves carry our own pain. On some days we carry it well and on other days, we might be bogged down by the weight of it. Some days we reject ideas and on other days our ideas are the ones that are rejected. No matter where we find ourselves on the spectrum, we have experience with either side at some point in our lives.

The Spectrum of Rejection

I guess the question is, what side of the spectrum do you currently find yourself on? Because either side is a tough balancing act. If you find yourself to be the one who is rejecting an idea, maybe ask yourself - why. Because each time we ask ourselves - why we reject something, it is an opportunity to learn more about our own self. But if you are currently the one who is doing the rejecting, then maybe ask yourself, what do you get from it? Because each repetitive action, thought or an idea, can lead to an addiction. Maybe it is dopamine fulfilling. Maybe, it is ego driven. Maybe it is none of those things, and you just blatantly reject an idea, thought or a person just because of your unfulfilled daily life. Which, in that case, would mean, you are rejecting yourself, and it is showing up as if you are rejecting a thing, versus looking further how your words and actions land.

The Hidden Side of Rejection

The hidden side of rejection, shows up in a variety of ways. And it is our own due-diligence to keep an inventory of how our words and actions land. Because that is the type of - energy- output we are giving to the world. If our vibe/energy output is off, then what we receive is also a little wonky, only because we are already too bogged down to have space for something that is peaceful and quiet. If our own inner world is chaotic, then of course, we will not be able to receive kindness because we have no -no plug for it.

Each outlet, needs a specific type of a receiver. If the outlet is set for a specific country, then the charger we have is going to be wrong no matter how much we need it to work. At the end, it is our own doing and we need to keep inventory of why our charger will not fit the outlet that is around us.

The same is when it comes to kindness. Kindness, being an outlet, cannot receive anything other than kindness in order to work fully. And when our charger, is chaotic, then we cannot receive kindness no matter how badly we demand it.

Kindness, in a sense is like a butterfly. The more you want it, the higher the chances are that the butterfly will fly off onto a flower that is calm and peaceful. The more we demand, force and control, the higher the chances that kindness/butterfly will want to fly towards a flower that smiling at the sun.

Rejecting A Certain Way

Wherever you find yourself on the spectrum of rejection, it is always good to take an inventory and see how rejection is playing out in yourself. Because, it is good, to see whether it is time to stop rejecting yourself or others, and instead, work on embracing a life, that is filled with beautiful flowers in your mind.
